Thriftique is a popular, mission-focused social enterprise resale shop selling carefully curated, designer-centric inventory. All Thriftique sales, community outreach, and partnerships support the National Council of Jewish Women Pittsburgh Section and their mission to support increased equity through the empowerment of women.
In our 8,400 sq foot shop in the heart of Lawrenceville, Thriftique sells high-quality, new and gently used clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry, accessories, home goods, art, books, and furniture at affordable prices.
JOB DETAILS
Thriftique is hiring a part-time Retail Sales Associate to join our small but mighty, hardworking, mission-minded, customer service team.
The Sales Associate is a retail worker responsible for driving sales, providing customer service, and handling merchandise. This role is essential in supporting the retail operations of the Thriftique store.
Must have Friday and Sunday availability.
24 hrs/wk, $15.00/hour. Paid time off. Paid holidays. Employee discount.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Maintain a safe and organized sales floor
Provide superior customer service, including answering questions about current store promotions/sales
Hanging, tagging, and stocking merchandise
Open and close the store following proper procedures documented in the opening and closing checklist
Execute cashier responsibilities using point of sale system
Remain current on all company policies and ensures that all policies, standards, and procedures are maintained and followed in a consistent manner
Maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, volunteers, student trainees, and donors
Stay current and up-to-date on all store systems
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE:
2 yrs. relevant work experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
Demonstrated experience in retail sales, managing products and providing customer service
Experience in customer service problem solving and working in a fast-paced environment
Scheduling flexibility is required, must be able to work Fridays and Sundays
DESIRED SKILLS:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and instructions, and procedure manuals.
Effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management.
Communicate on the telephone professionally
Ability to operate point of sale system
Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to stand for a minimum of 4-6 hours; and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. safely
Stoop, bend, kneel and crouch on a frequent basis.
Climb a ladder and balance on an occasional basis.
